CANNON SALUTE

The Cannon Salute team consists of four to six cadets executing various jobs. The detail performs at special events and ceremonies such as Change of Command and will perform at home football games. The cannon fires 10 gauge black powder shells every time Central scores a touch down as well as during the National Anthem, Half Time, and the end of the game. The positions include bracing the cannon platform, priming the firing pin, firing the cannon, and clearing the barrel.  Positions will alternate each time the cannon is fire. Along with the honor of being on the firing detail, cadets will do push-ups for every time Central scores, in addition cadets push for every point on the score board for the home team every time the team scores. For example, if Central scores a touch down and field goal, cadets will do seven pushups. If the team scores again, cadets will do 14 pushups.
